Denmark take the men’s and women’s titles

The 2024 European Men's & Women's Team Championships are now over, with Denmark emerging victorious in both the men’s and women’s events.

Women’s Final: Denmark triumphs over Spain
The finals day started with the women’s event, with Denmark facing Spain. The opening match featured Line Højmark Kjærsfeldt facing off against European champion Carolina Marin, who secured an early lead for Spain.

Denmark’s Mia Blichfeldt and Line Christophersen put up strong performances in the subsequent singles matches. The decisive match came in the women’s doubles, where Christine Busch/ Amalie Magelund faced Paula Lopez/ Lucia Rodriguez. The Danish duo clinched victory in straight games, sealing the win for Denmark.

With this win, Denmark retained their championship title. The final standings were:
  • Gold: Denmark
  • Silver: Spain
  • Bronze: France / Scotland

Men’s Final: Denmark continues dominance
The men’s final was a highly anticipated clash between France and Denmark. Fans speculated whether France could end Denmark's unbeaten streak in the men’s event.

Despite a great effort from France, Denmark won the first two matches in straight games. The highlight came when Christo Popov took on Rasmus Gemke in a match that extended to three games and lasted one hour and 23 minutes, with Gemke ultimately securing victory for Denmark.

Denmark’s victory marks their ninth consecutive title in the men’s event. The final standings were:
  • Gold: Denmark
  • Silver: France
  • Bronze: England / Germany
