Badminton England today announced that Pete Fitzboydon will become Interim Chief Executive. Pete will take up the role at the start of next week. 

Pete is currently a non-Executive Board member of Badminton England having joined in 2019 and brings with him a substantial track record of leadership roles in the sport industry, including London Sport and Parkwood Leisure. Most recently Pete has completed a series of interim and consulting assignments, including Interim CEO of Cycling UK and thinkBeyond, a global sports consulting company. 

Fitzboydon said: 

“I look forward to supporting Badminton England over the coming months while the search for a permanent Chief Executive is carried out. My last two years sitting on the Board should allow me to ‘hit the road running’ with a strong grasp of the immediate priorities, not least recovering from Covid-19, but also completing our review of the elite performance system and concluding long-term funding arrangements with Sport England. I am confident that we can emerge from this interim period in an even stronger place ahead of a permanent CEO appointment.”
