Scotland’s Adam Hall has revealed that to reach the later stages of the Finnish Open which begins tomorrow, would give him a mental boost after a tough block of tournaments.
The tournament will begin with the qualification rounds with three of Badminton Europe’s Centre of Excellence players will compete before the main draw starts on Friday.
Looking forward to Finland
Hall will compete in two categories at the tournament is hoping to take his form from the Orleans Masters to Helsinki.
- We are looking forward to this weekend, me and Alex showed our good form at Orleans for the first time in a while now, Adam Hall told Badminton Europe.
- Alex (Dunn) did pick up a small injury in Poland so we just want to make sure that we put in a good performance given the circumstances.
- We did not really keep the standard in Poland which we set in France, so we will be looking to try and bounce back, he added.
Ambitions are high
Hall speaking to Badminton Europe believes that if he and Julie McPherson can show what they have done in the past, there is nothing stopping them from progressing.
The Scot also revealed that mentally it would be a massive boost to reach the later stages of the International Challenge.
- We have a tough draw with Asian pairs in Mixed with Julie, but I believe that if we play to our levels then we can go through to the later stages of the tournament, Hall said.
- It would be a good confidence boost for us if we did that, we have struggled with the challenge tournaments last season.
- Especially with it being a long cycle for us, it would give us a lot of confidence for the rest of the season coming up, the Scot explained.
