It is a 7th year in a row that the town Gatchina of Leningrad region welcomes the International Challenge tournament “White Nights”. In the 2013 edition are about 150 participants from 13 countries to take part in the 15.000 Dollars event. The local spectators looking forward to seeing their favourite players on courts again.
The programme of the first day in the main competition will see an opening ceremony with a traditional parade of the players, a welcome speech by the vice-governor of Leningrad region, and head of Gatchina followed by a show of the local circus.
Saturday after the semi-finals the organizer arranged a party at the city mall with show programme and a welcome lunch from the Governor of Leningrad region. An already traditional event became the "Night of the music" with the swimming scene and playing classical music of Chaykovsky and Rakhmaninov at the lake of Gatchina kings park.
At the finals day, the tournament will see a prize giving ceremony after every final's match, songs from local singers, a lottery with the special prizes from the Badminton Federation of Leningrad region will be presented for the spectators.
"We, the organizers, do invite all the badminton lovers to visit our tournament. We are very much looking forward to seeing interesting and exciting matches on the courts of Arena badminton center", says Alexander Russkikh, the chief organizer in Gatchina.
