The HSBC BWF World Tour continues in Europe and next up is YONEX German Open. Isabel Herttrich has lived in the host city and is ready to play for the fans and her friends and family.

Fresh off the podium from Swiss Open two weeks ago, the German doubles and mixed player has prepared well for this Super 300-tournament, which is organized in her home country from 6 March.

- German Open as a tournament on home soil is always special. I lived in this city for 6 years, so I know the hall and the surroundings really good. I always enjoyed playing there in front of my family and friends and many German badminton fans, she told Badminton Europe.

Badminton fans can also expect world class players from Asian countries like China and Japan, here amongst Lin Dan from China, and, a big part of the Danish squad are also playing German Open while preparing for the YONEX All England Badminton Open Championships later this month.

Self-confidence from Swiss Open
Herttrich and mixed doubles partner Mark Lamsfuss won the title at Swiss Open and is hoping to keep the streak going in the coming tournament.

- The first round in mixed against world's no 5 is going to be tough. But we got self-confidence and a good feeling during the Yonex Swiss Open so we are ready for the fight!

Herttrich will also be entering the tournament in women’s doubles with Carla Nelte. And, Lamsfuss is playing men’s doubles with Marvin Emil Seidel, who is teaming up with Linda Elfer as the other German constellation in the mixed draw.

Experimental service law applies from March 1st
German Open till be the first tournament to implement he new service law with fixed height of 115 cm. And the players are for sure excited to get started and this has made the preparations special compared to other tournaments.

- The only special thing about the preparation was the focus on the new rule for the serve, Herttrich explained.

- I am curious about how the new rule will change the game and how strict the service judges will act. German Open will bring some surprising matches and results, I guess.
