At the end of this week, a total of 70 participants from 22 countries will travel to meet in Otočec, Slovenia for the 31st edition of BEC Summer School. During 7 days, from 14 to 21 July, 48 players will practise with 15 coaches who will be supervised by 7 BEC staff coaches.
The BEC Summer School is not just about badminton, although time on the badminton court occupies a large share of the schedule, therefore participants are given an opportunity to learn about different nationalities.
In addition to the tough and intensive sessions at “Sporthall Otočec”, social activities will be organised as well so that the participants can get to know each other and enjoy the local region.
After having participated several times as staff coach over the past years, An Soenens of Belgium will be the BEC staff coach coordinator of the six other staff coaches:
• Diemo Ruhnow (Germany)
• Vlada Cherniavskaya (Belarus)
• Stefan Ljutzkanov (Bulgaria)
• Helen Ward (England)
• Antti Rajasärkkä (Finland)
• Budi Santoso (Indonesia)
When the staff coaches take care of the training for the participants, the local organisers Matevž Šrekl and Dušan Skerbiš from the Slovenian Badminton Federation will make sure it runs smoothly.
Towards the end of the week, BEC Vice President João Matos from Portugal will come to Otocec to spend a few days to meet the participants and experience the local atmosphere.
The BEC Summer School is the perfect occasion for each participant to have a good time, learn about badminton techniques, improve their game and leave with new friends and souvenirs.
