Denmark’s Kamilla Rytter Juhl and Christinna Pedersen maintained their impressive form as they eased past Korea’s third seeds Jung Kyung Eun/Shin Seung Chan 21-16, 21-13 in the last four and book a championship match against another Korean pair in Sunday’s finals.

Pedersen/Juhl: It's a dream come true

„We are in the Yonex All England final! It’s was an amazing support in the stadium! Thanks. All the energy we have will be put into tomorrow's match“, the current European Champion wrote on their official Facebook page.

"It's a dream come true. We are really happy and proud of what we have done“, Christinna Pedersen said to Badminton Denmark.

Standing between Kamilla Rytter Juhl/Christinna Pedersen and the biggest title of their career is World No. 5 duo of Chang Ye Na and Lee So Hee, who have been beaten by the Danes in their last encounter at the Rio Olympic Games in three grueling games.

A Danish win in Sunday’s final would also mean a long-awaited triumph in the women’s doubles category at the prestigious tournament. In 1981 Nora Perry and Jane Webster were the last players to clinch the title for the European continent.

Adcocks one point away from reaching finals

England's Gabby and Chris Adcock were match point away from reaching the final on home soil, only losing to Chinese pair Kai Lu and Huang Yaqiong after the strings on Chris' racquet broke and they eventually lost it 22-20.

“We came out really strong and took a really tight first game. We were really good and we were really happy with it,” he said to Badminton England.

“We then dropped our level a little bit and the Chinese played really well in the second game.

“We were quite far down so decided to rebuild our mentality for the third, which we did. We came out well, but they got a bit of a lead.

“We came right back to get ourselves to match point. We really dug deep to get that and we can be proud of it. It’s devastating to lose when we were so close.”

“We don’t want to let anyone down, so when we are fighting back, it’s for the guys who are supporting us. They are amazing.”

Kolding/Conrad lost semi-final encounter

European Champions Mads Kolding and Mads Conrad (Denmark) lost their semi-final clash against Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia in three games 21-19, 13-21, 17-21.

In the men’s singles, current world no. 1 Lee Chong Wei reached the final of the All-England Open for a seventh time on Saturday after rallying past Chou Tien Chen of Taiwan 10-21, 21-14, 21-9.
