Badminton Europe(BEC) can now inform that the Women in Badminton(WiB) Commission is open for applications to the Women in Badminton-scholarships of 2017.
WiB Commission’s main objective is to discuss and produce ideas on how to strengthen and establish more female participation in the European badminton community.
That is carried out in practice by the following projects: “Women in the Spotlight”-features on the website, BEC Women in Badminton Award, best practices and projects, and lastly, the Women in Badminton-Scholarships.
Annually, Badminton Europe offers 20 WiB scholarships of €500 and the European Member Associations are encouraged to nominate one person per category.
Categories of the scholarships:
1. Participation in the annual BEC Summer School, organized this year in Podcetrtek, Slovenia;
2. Participation at the 2017 BEC Congress 1st of April in Prague, Czech Republic;
3. Participation in the BEC Umpire Courses throughout the year;
4. Participation in a BWF Para-Badminton International tournament

A letter with all this information has been sent to all the Member Associations, and we ask you to please keep in mind that the number of scholarships provided are limited. Therefore, it is possible that the number of applications exceeds the number of available scholarships.
We would also like to remind you that the same person cannot be nominated in more than one category.
The BEC Women in Badminton Commission will decide on the scholarship recipients with discretion.
