The YONEX Slovenia Future Series 2023 gets underway in Otočec, southeastern Slovenia.
Slovenia's very own, Miha Ivančič and Petra Polanc, lead the charge as the mixed doubles top seeds. The home-grown talents have recently clinched two silver medals at the Lagos International Classics 2023 and the Cameroon International 2023. Petra Polanc also competes on home soil as the second seed in the women’s singles event.
Austria takes center stage in the men’s doubles category with the top seeds, Gustav Andree and Simon Bailoni, and Kai Niederhuber and Michael Tomic. Switzerland's Julien Scheiwiller is the men’s singles top seed, while Hungary's Daniella Gonda aims to leave her mark in Slovenia as the women’s singles top seed. The women’s doubles event features Sweden’s Fiona Hallberg and Romina Olyaee, and Swiss duo Lucie Amiguet and Vera Appenzeller as the only two seeded pairs.
