The 2023 European U17 Championships have commenced this morning at the SEB Arena in Vilnius, Lithuania, with the team event.
There are five days of intense badminton action to come at the 2023 European U17 Team Championships which will be taking place from today until Tuesday, 8 August — followed by the individual event.
For these first three days, teams will face off in the group stage, battling it out for crucial points to secure a spot in the knockout stage.
Romania was the first team to take the win in this edition, dominating their opening match against Armenia by securing a resounding 5-0 victory. The two other Group 7 teams, Belgium and Slovenia, battled it out with Slovenia pushing right until the end but Belgium still emerged victorious, 4-1. France and Switzerland have also started their campaigns with commanding 5-0 wins against Bulgaria and Greece, respectively.
With many more matches to be played, the excitement is far from over. The opening day of the 2023 European U17 Team Championships continues with three more sessions.
