Tomorrow is finals day at the YONEX German Open 2023 and the fans in the Westenergie Halle in Mulheim an der Ruhr, Germany, can get ready for one of the most exciting matchups of 2023 so far.

In the women's singles final we will see An Se Young (Korea) against Akane Yamaguchi (Japan). It is the third time the world's current number one and two meet this year and it will also be in a final for the third time. Akane Yamaguchi won a three-game-encounter on 15 January to take the Malaysia Open title and fell short a week later in the final of the India Open.

The women's singles final will not be the only treat for the German fans in the sold out venue tomorrow. The mixed doubles final will feature Olympic champion Huang Dong Ping with her new partner Feng Yan Zhe and we will see the reigning All England champions in women's double: Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida from Japan.

In men's singles, the former world champion and Japanese superstar Kento Momota could not continue his run at the German Open and fell short to Li Shi Feng (China) 11-21, 7-21.

His finals opponent will be Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong who is hoping to claim his first World Tour title since 2020: "It has been a while since I got a championship to strengthen my confidence. I am really looking forward to tomorrow's final", said Ng Ka Long Angus after his win over Lee Cheuk Yiu.
