The reigning European Mixed Team champions, Denmark, take on Ukraine for the first clash of the event in Group B.

Fist ones on court were the world number one Viktor Axelsen and Danylo Bosniuk. The Dane took the first win for his team, 21-6 21-13. "We have a few injuries but we are a strong team. It is going to be an exciting week and hopefully Denmark can take the win. I'm excited to get started here and I know that my teammates are as well", said Axelsen.

It was a similar result in the women's singles match. Line Christophersen made it 2-0 for Denmark with a win against Anna Mikhalkova, 21-7 21-14. 

Now leading 3-0, the Danish team added yet another victory thanks to Rasmus Kjær/ Frederik Søgaard who defeated Glib Beketov/ Ivan Druzchenko 21-4 21-15.
