The fourth BWF World Tour tournament of the year is officially here. The PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters 2023 starts tomorrow for the sixth time since it was first held. From the 31st of January to the 5th of February, players from around the world will be playing in the Super 300 event, which will take place in the Nimibutr Stadium, in Bangkok.

The seeded players from the main draw this year are mainly Asian, except Jeppe Bay/ Lasse Mølhede (Denmark) in men’s doubles and Line Kjærsfeldt (Denmark) and Carolina Marín (Spain), who was Indonesia Masters’ runner-up just last week, in women’s singles.

Anders Antonsen (Denmark), who is slowly progressing in the world ranking, after his long struggle with injuries, is also in the draw for the Thailand Masters. The Danish star will be up against a strong local opponent when he plays Sitthikom Thammasin in his opening match.

Magnus Johannesen (Denmark) and Felix Burestedt (Sweden) are amongst the highest ranked players having to make their way through qualification which starts Tuesday. Tomorrow Johannesen will play against Indonesia’s Christian Adinata in his opening match, while Burestedt will face Su Li Yang (TPE). If both Europeans will win their first encounters, they will be up against each other, playing for one spot in the main draw.

Other big European names already being ready for the main draws are Polina Buhrova (Ukraine) and Lianne Tan (Belgium) in women’s singles, Mark Caljouw (Netherlands) in men’s singles and Alexandra Bøje/ Mathias Christiansen (Denmark) and Jenny Moore/ Gregory Mairs (England) in mixed doubles.
