The small things made the difference when Mia Blichfeldt lost the in the quarterfinals at the Worlds.

Mia Blichfeldt pulled off a stunning performance in the round of last 16 beating Indian super star Saina Nehwal. In the quarterfinals Chinese Chen Yufei was too strong for the young Dane.

The Chinese won the first game 21-17, but in the second game Blichfeldt turned things around winning 21-18.

Third game slipped
Leading 15-12 in the third game it however slipped for Blichfeldt. The bronze medallist from the 2017 World Championships in Glasgow, Scotland secured another World Championships medal winning the decider 21-15.

- I made too many easy mistakes, and she did not give me anything for free. It is just not good enough. I have to work harder than that, especially in situations like this. It is tough right now, Blichfeldt said.

- I feel so disappointed and a bit mad at myself. I was close but not close enough. I was used to win my own points, but at this level I need to keep it going and to build it up for one and a half hours.

Motivated
Despite not getting a medal Mia Blichfeldt is happy about her performance throughout the tournament.

- In a few days I will be pretty proud of myself and be more motivated to work harder for the future, Blichfeldt stated.

- I really think I had the chance and I fought with everything. In the beginning of next week I will be satisfied and happy. I am getting closer and closer to the best. I just have to enjoy all the small things, because it keeps me motivated.
