Last match of the day, but not least. The Birmingham audience were ensured of an exciting match, but it just did not go the way they hoped for.

Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge (England) were dominating in the first game and were heading to the win in the second game. Then the Malaysian pair Goh/Tan came back and Ellis/Langridge had to fight for the game. They lost the fight with 21-16 21-23 12-21.

- We had the match right there for the taking, but somehow it took it away from us. Then we tried to make us ready for the third set but I 100% believe we should have won in two sets today. Ellis told Badminton Europe after their match.

I think we performed very well, especially in the first two sets. This was our chance to beat world class players, so it is really disappointing.
