Anders Antonsen can head home after losing in the first round of India Open.
Antonsen lost 22-20 21-8 to Sameer Verma from India, and the Dane believes that it was one mistake which cost him the tie but he knows he will learn from it.
- Played a really good first set until 20-18... Lost it 20-22 and wasn’t able to leave the set behind me. A mistake that shows I’m still a youngster. This trip has been a good reminder that there is still a long way to go! I’m looking forward to all the hard work that’s ahead of me, Antonsen wrote on his Facebook page.
Marin ready for second round
In other ties, Spanish Carolina Marin went through to the second round in comfortable fashion with two wins by a considerable margin against Mattana Hemrachatanun from Thailand.
The first game was an easy win for the Spanish number one seed with a 21-15.The second game was even more convincing for Marin, as she went through winning 21-11.
Boe/Mogensen also through
In the men’s doubles, Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen, who are the number two seed for the tournament beat their American opponents Phillip Chew and Ryan Chew in straight games to take the match.
The first game was a good win for the Danes, with a 21-15 win over the americans.
The second game was one-way traffic with a much more comfortable win for the Danish pair with a 21-4 win over the Chews.
