Rasmus Bech, 30, is the newest addition to the Badminton Europe (BEC) office.

September 1st was his very first day and his plans for the future of the Confederation are crystal clear:

- I want to make BEC the world’s leading digital platform for badminton.

- We need to be the first place where our Member Associations, fans and badminton audiences go when they seek the latest news or have questions about badminton.

A sports nerd with a badminton background
Bech played badminton as a kid and has been in love with the sport ever since.

He graduated from Danish School of Media & Journalism in 2012, and has worked for Badminton Denmark and the three Danish TV channels; TV3 Sport, TV2 Sport, and, TV2 News.

- As a sports nerd, it is amazing to get the opportunity to engage in one of the sports that mean the most to me.

The perfect timing
For Bech, this position was something he has always dreamed of and the job opening came at the right time.

- I cannot imagine a better place to work towards making the sport of badminton bigger and the reach of it much wider.

- Europe is one of the continents where badminton is biggest but there is still an enormous potential, and I don’t just mean ‘on court’.

The BEC office in Brøndby, Denmark, has reached nine employees now that Bech is filling the position as Manager of communications.
