After the surpringsly early exit of some of Europe’s favourite players such as Viktor Axelsen and Carolina Marin in the first two rounds of the YONEX French Open 2024, only three europeans are left standing - those being Anders Antonsen, Thom Gicquel/ Delphine Delrue and Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen.

Winning the quarter-finals for the last three europeans won’t exactly be a piece of cake either. Let's take a look at what each of them are facing in the quarterfinals:

Gicquel & Delrue Quarterfinal
For the crowd-favourites Thom Gicquel/ Delphine Delrue, it will be a special challenge. They will be facing Seo Seung Jae/ Chae Yu Jung, the third-seeded pair from Korea who have beat the French pair before in very two tight matches.
Let's see what kind of results they can produce.

Astrup & Rasmussen Quarterfinal

Kim Astrup/ Anders Skaarup Rasmussen will be facing the sixth seeded Takuro Hoki/ Yugo Kobayashi from Japan. They have faced each other 11 times with six having gone to the Japanese pair and five to the Danes. This will be an extremely interesting high-level match to watch, and it’s really anyone’s game.

Anders Antonsen Quarterfinal

Anders Antonsen will face Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo from Indonesia, whom he beat comfortably at the last Indonesian Masters 21-15 21-10, and then went on to win the whole tournament. If Antonsen manages to get the win, he most likely will face China's Shi Yu Qi, world ranked number two player in the world. Can Antonsen keep his unbeaten streak in 2024 at the French Open?
