There was a lot to celebrate for our top European athletes at the NSDF Royal Beach Cliff BWF Para Badminton World Championships 2024, where elite Para players from across the world contended across six Para classes at the biannual event.

England's Daniel Bethell was the top performer from our continent, securing a silver medal in the men’s singles SL 3 category.

France showcased its strength as one of the leading European forces in Para badminton. Charles Noakes (men’s singles SH 6), Lucas Mazur (men’s singles SL 4), and Maud Lefort (women’s singles SU 5) each clinched bronze. Denmark’s Cathrine Rosengren also earned bronze in the women’s singles SU 5.

Norway's Helle Sofie Sagøy, BEC Fan Player of the Year 2023 nominee, won bronze in the women’s singles SL 4, while Belgium's Man-Kei To, BEC Para Player of the Year 2023 nominee, mirrored this achievement with a bronze of his own.

Other European winners include Türkiye’s Halime Yildiz, Polish duo Daria Bujnicka/Oliwia Szmigiel, and Italy’s Yuri Ferrigno. For the full list of winners, click here.
