The road to glory begins

The game is on at the Qualification Stage for the 2024 European Men's & Women's Team Championships. 

Seven out of the eight locations across Europe have already unveiled their courts, with Germany gearing up to join tomorrow. The buzz started in Madrid as Spain played host to the first team clashes of the qualification events, marking the official start to an exciting week ahead.

Now, let's take a look at the unfolding clashes in the seven locations where matches are currently being played.

Spain
Spain was the only location to kick-off the matches yesterday — where the home team and Italy got off to a solid start winning 4-1 against their opponents. Today, Sweden got to clinch their first win in the qualification in a tough 3-2 triumph against Italy.

Azerbaijan
A resounding 5-0 win for Estonia against Slovakia on what was the first match of the day in today’s qualifications across Europe. Scotland faced the host team and had just as good of a great start, winning 5-0 against Azerbaijan.

England
Hosts England received a confident win against Iceland, while Sweden started their qualification journey by winning against Switzerland.

Czech Republic
It was a closely contested match that opened the qualifications in Prague. Ireland and Norway had some close moments in the team match, and the Irish team got to close off the clash with two wins that sealed the triumph for them today.

France
Matches coming up today:
  • 1pm: France vs Slovenia (Women’s, Group 3)

Bulgaria
Important win for Bulgaria on their opening day. Competing on home turf, they went all out with a team of their strongest athletes which worked well against Ireland, taking the win 4-1.

Netherlands
Just as the women's team yesterday, Spain’s men’s team also got to start with a motivating result, winning 5-0 against Hungary. Yet, Hungary’s women’s team had a better first day. Also competing in the Netherlands, they secured the win against Czech Republic.
