Malta International is back after 20 years

Malta International 2022 presented by VICTOR started today, 8th of December, and is taking place in Cospicua until Sunday the 11th.  The Future Series event is held in Malta for the first time since 1992. 

The qualification rounds are being played today. Matches can be watched on Badminton Malta. On December 9th, the last rounds of qualification will be played, and the main draw will begin in the afternoon session.  

The list of seeded players for this year’s edition is quite international, with players from all over the world attending the tournament. Ade Resky Dwicahyo, from Azerbaijan in men’s singles, and Vivien Sandorhazi, from Hungary in women’s singles are the top-seeded. Also, number one-seeded, Michal Sobolewski and Adam Szolc from Poland are playing in men’s doubles and so are the Dutch women’s doubles Kirsten De Wit and Alyssa Tirtosentono. Their first match of the tournament is on the 10th, in the round of 16.  Finally, in mixed doubles and from the Netherlands, Brian Wassink and Alyssa Tirtosentono are the top-seeded entry.
