The Organisation Committee of the Austrian U17 Open 2021 in cooperation with Badminton Europe, will ensure the safety protocols for the BEC tournament that will take place from June 4 to 6, 2021.

UBSC Wolfurt is committed in the organisation of this year’s tournament so that the top European badminton players can compete in the U17 category.

This year the players will have a better and renewed hall according to international standards, and a team of outstanding professionals will be responsible for the overall organisation. There will also be a greater number and improved services in the sports hall.

The production and broadcast of this event via Livestream (TV Court 1) will allow the audience to see all the action on court from any place.

Plan A: a full experience
In addition to the exciting matches between international teams, players and their companions will be able to enjoy pleasant moments off the court, such as excursions within the region. This way they will make the most of their stay and return home with the best memories.

Plan B: the bubble version
If conditions are not favourable, the tournament will be played according to the bubble system. Players and coaches will only remain inside the hall or in their hotels, while the audience will not be able to enter the facilities.

Traditionally, the Victor Hofsteig Youth International (VHYI) tournament for U11 to U15 categories is held in parallel to the Austrian U17 Open. However, this year only U15 players will participate in the competition and the VHYI will be a qualifying tournament for the European U15 Championships.

Information on rapid tests, use of masks and seating arrangements
The Organisation Committee cannot give any details at this moment However, all information will be given in a timely manner before the start of the tournament. The Austrian government and Badminton Europe will ultimately determine the applicable regulations.

The Organisation Committee hopes that everyone can enjoy a successful Austrian U17 Open 2021. They also encourage all coaches, supervisors, clubs, and players to register in the competitions so that they can plan the tournament season together.
