Stefani and Gabriela Stoeva reached the quarterfinal of the YONEX Swiss Open 2019 after a quite close match against the Indonesians Yulfira Barkah and Jauza Surgiarto.

Indeed, in the first game, the Stoeva sisters were four points down (four game points for their opponents), but managed to cope the pressure to make a great come back.

"We did not expect the Indonesians to play so aggressive”, Stefani Stoeva
said after the match.

The Bulgarian pair tried to focus on every point and was able took the first game (22-20). After such a close game, the match took another direction and the Stoevas managed to lead the score almost during the entire second game (21-13).

Runner-ups from last year

Stefani and Gabriela  Stoeva were runner-ups in Basel last year. Today, they are determined to do better and maybe get gold this time. Nothing seems to disturb the girls to go far at the YONEX Swiss Open. They are one of the favourites to win the title.

After a promising All England, where the girls were beaten by the winners in semi-finals, Gabriela and Stefani Stoeva seem to be in great conditions.

Tomorrow, they will face another European pair who is from Germany, Johanna Goliszewski and Lara Kaepplein.
