After reaching the semi-final with Lauren Smith in Barcelona, Marcus Ellis got knocked out in the Men’s Doubles, together with Chris Langridge.

Marcus Ellis was playing the first match on court 3 and the last one on court 2 in the CEM Olímpics hall on Friday, the quarterfinal day of the Barcelona Spain Masters 2019.

Together with Lauren Smith, Ellis was able to win his first match in Mixed Doubles straight, But at the end of the day, he and Chris Langridge had to accept a defeat against Kim Won Ho/Seo Seung Jae from South Korea after two games (18-21, 12-21).

- We are very disappointed with how it went for us in the end. There were patches in the first game, where we played well. We had chances to take the first game. But in the end, they had the better strategy, Marcus Ellis said after the match.

- These kinds of tournaments are actually good for us, because we do not face a pair in the Top 10 in the world, but have chanced ton advance in the tournament, Chris Langridge added.

Tomorrow, Marcus Ellis is facing Seo Seung Jae again, but this time in Mixed Doubles, when Marcus Ellis/Lauren Smith fight for a spot in the final of the Barcelona Spain Masters against Seo Seung Jae/Chae Yuiung.
