Germany in the semi-final

On Friday, Germany was beating England in the group stage at the 2019 European Mixed Team Championships. Tomorrow, the team is playing against Russia in the semi-final.


“We are playing for the pride now, girls”, said Nathan Robertson, England’s coach, to Lauren Smith and Chloe Birch before their Women’s Doubles match against Germany. The English pair was the last one playing in Group 2 on court on Friday.


But before this last match between England and Germany, it was clear: Germany is playing in the semi-finals tomorrow, after Marvin Seidel and Mark Lamsfuss have won against Chris Langridge and Marcus Ellis.


- We are very happy with our performance. The whole team is happy to win at least Bronze here in Copenhagen, Marvin Seidel said after the match.


Before, Kai Schäfer and Yvonne Li were able to win the Singles categories.

Already, before the group matches on Friday, Russia was qualified for the semi-finals. But the team still won their last group match with 4-1 against Ireland.

Tomorrow, Russia is facing Germany in the semi-final at 10.00 AM (CET). The last duel between both teams ended with 5-0 for Russia.
