The Perodua Malaysia Masters 2019 is getting underway in Kuala Lumpur from 15-20 January with the semi-finals taking place tomorrow.

In this BWF Super 500 event, a number of European players made a great performance and managed to reach the semi-finals.

European affair in the Mixed Doubles

In the category of the Mixed Doubles, the new Dutch pair Robin Tabeling and Selena Piek who came from qualification round, played against the European Champions Chris Adcock and Gabrielle Adcock from England. The Dutch pair won both sets with 21-18, making an unexpected victory.
-Beating another world class pair and I can not be more proud of Robin and myself, Piek stated on Instagram.
In the semi-finals, the Dutch pair will play against the number two seeds Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai from Thailand.

Significant victories in the Singles

In the Women's Singles, Carolina Marin, in her first tournament of 2019, played at a very high tempo against Sung Ji Hyun from Korea, who is seeded as number eight, winning both sets with 21-13.

Tomorrow, in the semi-finals the Spaniard current World Champion will face the number seven seed Saina Nehwal from India. Six months ago in the quarterfinals for the World Championships in Nanjing, China, Marin beated Nehwal in two straight games.
