On Tuesday, the second day of the European Senior Championships took place in Guadalajara. Players from all age categories, 35 to 70 years, were playing the first round of the tournament.

The Pabellón Multiusos de Guadalajara was the place to be in Guadalajara on Tuesday. Spectators were able to watch 440 matches in total. The first matches got underway for the 65-year-old in the morning, followed by the 60-year-old. The last matches will begin at 9:40 PM (CET).

Retired match before the last interval
One of the best matches of the day took place during lunch time. At 1:10 PM (CET), the first seeded in the women’s singles of 35 years, English player Joanna Dix played against Irène Bessette from France. 

The favorite from England won the match after three games, 20-22, 21-6 and 11-7. Thereby, Bessette retired in the last interval after winning the first game.

The match between the first seeded English and the French was one of the longest matches of the day. It lasted 43 minutes, before Bessette retired.

A mixed women’s double
A match to watch around dinner time will take place at 8:10 PM (CET). The women’s double of 55-years-old between Heidi Bender and Svetlana Zilberman and Anne Legrais-Ozberk and Chantal Piron gets underway.

Thereby, European Senior Player of the Year 2017 and first seeded, Bender, is playing together with Svetlana Zilberman, the mother of Misha Zilberman. The mixed women’s double is playing against the pair from France.
