Team Germany claimed the first semi final spot in Tallinn at the European junior team event with Emma Moszczynski playing a staring role for the Germans winning two points in their 3-1 win over England.

Moszczynski teamed up with Lukas Resch to get Germany off to the perfect starting winning the opening mixed doubles beating current Euro U17 champions Hope Warner and Rory Easton.

- The opening match is always important and winning the first set after saving three set points was the big turning point in that match said Moszczynski

After taking the women’s singles courtesy of Miranda Wilson Team England got themselves back into the tie taking the men’s singles thanks to Harry Huang who beat Lukas Resch in two games.

The task fell to Moszczynski and partner Jule Petrikowski to get the tie over the line in the women’s doubles and the German’s, though pushed hard by Redfearn and Chapman, secured the match and a medal for Germany with 21-8 21-17 victory.

- It is a big relief because we knew we had some pressure on our doubles pairs to deliver. I am proud to win two points for the team and now we can enjoy the moment but soon we will reset and come back ready for the semi final.

Denmark and France followed the Germans into the semi final both by the same score line. Denmark beat Scotland 3-1 with Magnus Johannasen (pictured above) taking the opening men’s singles for Denmark leaving an almost impossible task for Scotland thereafter

France looked decidedly shaking against the outsiders Czech Republic twice been taken to three games in the opening mixed doubles and men’s doubles. Once again Arnaud Merkle was the banker for the French with Tereza Svabikova taking the women’s singles for the Czech Republic.

Russia claimed the last spot in the semi finals as they were taken the distance by Turkey.
