Vladimir Ivanov was the only Russian on court on finals day, as Kim Min Kyung of South Korea partnered him to a home title, in their debut appearance together.
The unseeded pair had a great tournament, beating the number one seeds Dremin and Dimova in the semi-finals and the number 2 seeds from India, Rohan Kapoor and Kuhoo Garg, in the final. This may well be a fruitful mixed partnership moving forward.
Ivanov will now travel to Nanjing, China for the World Championships and compete in the Men’s Doubles with partner Ivan Sozonov where they are the 10th seeds.
