Toni Woods is one of the players at BEC Centre of Excellence, and she admits that the centre has played a big role in her development as a badminton player.

The Scottish badminton talent Toni Woods joined the BEC Centre of Excellence back in September 2017. She tells that the BEC Centre of Excellence has meant a lot to her, and she is very happy to be a part of the project.

- The BEC COE has been important to me as a player and has played a big part in my career already. It has given me the opportunity to have a full-time structured training programme which I maybe wouldn’t have had the chance to have if I had stayed in Scotland, says Toni Woods to Badminton Europe.

- The centre has given me the confidence and motivation I needed to become a full time player and to strive to achieve my goals.

Feels a development as a badminton player

Toni Woods already feels a development as a badminton player, even she only has been a part of the project for one year.

- I can already feel my development and improvement from when I first started at the centre in September. My level as a badminton player has increased, physically and technically, and also my attitude and mindset towards everything has changed in a positive way.

- I’m really happy with the direction my development is going in and I believe it will continue with the high quality training, coaches, and team mates that I have here at the centre.

In the end Toni Woods explains that the development is the most important for her in the future.

- My goal for the next couple of years is to focus on developing myself as a player here at the centre and then I will be aiming to begin to reach semi-finals/finals at international series and challenge tournaments, Toni Woods ends.
