BEC mourns the death of Edgard Verpoorten

Badminton Europe Confederation, Belgian Badminton Federation, Badminton Vlaanderen and the entire badminton world mourn the loss of Edgard Verpoorten. The former president of the Belgian Badminton Federation as well as Badminton Vlaanderen died on Wednesday at the age of 69.
 
Edgard Verpoorten was through many, many years a well-known and highly respected representative of badminton in his country, and a dear member of the European badminton family at Annual Assemblies. The European Badminton Community has truly lost a dear friend and a good ally.
 
Condolences go from everyone within the European badminton community to his family – his wife Patricia and their kids Elspeth and Gregory.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday, 5th July at 10.00 in the Church of Hallaar, Belgium.
