From April 27 to May 5, 32 of the world's top men's and women's national badminton teams from every continent will compete in Chengdu, China, to determine the world's best badminton team.

The TotalEnergies BWF Thomas & Uber Cup Finals 2024 start in less than a day, marking the 33rd edition of the Thomas Cup for men and the 30th for the Uber Cup for women.

Thomas Cup
Representing Europe in the Thomas Cup are teams from Czechia, Denmark, England, and Germany. The first Europeans to take center stage in the tournament will be the Danes who will face off against Africa’s 2024 champions, Algeria, on Saturday. A strong start against Algeria is crucial for Denmark as they prepare for tougher challenges against fellow Group D teams Malaysia and Hong Kong in the following days.

England faces a formidable opener against 14-time champions Indonesia. With Thailand and reigning champions India also in Group C, the English team must navigate a highly competitive group stage.

Czechia and Germany, placed in Group B, are also bracing for a challenging start on Sunday. Czechia will go up against Japan, while Germany takes on Chinese Taipei.

Uber Cup
In the Uber Cup, Denmark’s women’s team, which secured their seventh title earlier this year in Poland, stands as Europe’s only representative.

They will start their Uber Cup journey against 2024 PanAmerican champions USA tomorrow. The Danes are in Group D alongside Korea, the defending champions and two-time title winners, and México. Securing as many victories as possible in their group stage encounters will be essential for Denmark to claim one of the top two spots in their group.
