Now, the Spanish has a tough opponent to face: Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei, who is the current number one in the world in Women’s Singles.

Defeated by Thai players
For the Mixed Doubles pair, Chris and Gabrielle Adcock, it has not been a successful Day 3 at the YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open.
After a very close first game (21-23), the English pair lost the second one straight (12-21) to their Thai opponents, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Sapsiree Taerattanachai.
Mia Blichfeldt who was able to increase her world ranking today (she is now 17th in the world), also had to accept a defeat against a Thai player: Pornpawee Chochuwong. The Dane lost the match after three games (21-17, 10-21, 13-21).

Danish exits
With Mia Blichfeldt being knocked out of the tournament, seven Danes had to accept defeats on Day 3 in Hong Kong. Maiken Fruergaard/Sara Thygesen lost against Du Yue/Li Yinhui (19-21, 17-21).
Jan O Jorgensen had to accept a defeat against his opponent from South Korea, Lee Dong Keun (13-21, 17-21).
For Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus, it has been a long match against Lee Cheuk Yiu from Hong Kong. But after 48 minutes, he lost after two games (12-21, 21-23).
Nearly a win against the World Champion
Mathias Boe and Carsten Mogensen had a tough task by facing the World Champions, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo on Thursday.
After winning the first game (21-16), the Danes nearly won the second one but lost it in the end (19-21). Thus, the third game was the final decision, it ended with 9-21 for the Danes, who were not able to reach the quarter-final.
