Once again, Holbæk has become a hub of European badminton talents. Last week, the RSL BEC CoE facilities hosted U17 women’s and men’s singles training camps.

Seven skilled players representing Hungary, Poland, Portugal and Wales, gathered at the RSL BEC Centre of Excellence to keep shaping and elevating their game for five intense days, from 20 to 24 November.

The camp aimed at supporting the development of the players by providing them with different trainings and sparring partners, with the main focus being tactical singles. The regular RSL BEC CoE players were integral contributors to the camp’s dynamic setup.

For the newcomers, the experience was extraordinary. Their notable commitment and consistently positive attitude throughout the training sessions left a lasting impression. Vytaute Fomkinaite, RSL BEC CoE Coach, shared her thoughts, stating, "It was a truly great experience for the new players attending and for myself to be able to coach with such a positive atmosphere."

A full training programme composed by on court technical and tactical sessions in combination with individual gym plans was the key to pushing the players’ limits and making the most out of those fleeting days.

“It was a good experience being and training with different people from different countries while learning new skills and improving myself as a player and as a person. There was a great atmosphere and great coaches, good quality training, and hard work. Overall, this was an experience every athlete would love to have and I am grateful to be one of them, and to have enjoyed and learnt with all the people at the RSL BEC CoE. I hope to be back again really soon,” Portuguese player Alexandre Bernardo stated.

The RSL BEC CoE will continue with their daily training until the end of the year while preparing the new activities that will welcome and kick off the beginning of 2024.
