The PRINCESS SIRIVANNAVARI Thailand Masters marked an exciting end to the World Tour’s first Asian leg of the year, highlighted by great wins and exceptional performances.

Thai players triumph on home soil
Thai shuttler Pornpawee Chochuwong clinched her first title in nearly two years, mirroring her success at the 2023 Swiss Open. Her compatriots, Dechapol Puavaranukroh and Supissara Paewsampran, delighted the home crowd with a dynamic win in mixed doubles. Additionally, Singapore’s Jia Heng Jason Teh captured his first World Tour title by defeating China’s Wang Zheng Xing in a hard-fought final.

Bronze for Nguyen
Nhat Nguyen won bronze after delivering impressive performances this week, beginning with wins over European players – Magnus Johannesen and Julien Carraggi –, an amazing quarterfinal clash with Indonesia’s Alwi Fahran, culminating in a strong semifinal match against Teh. The Irish player’s campaign ended with a third-place finish, adding a well-deserved bronze medal thanks to a great run in Thailand.

Coming up
With the Thailand Masters wrapped up, the BWF World Tour takes a short break before the YONEX German Open kicks off on 25 February. Meanwhile on European soil, the 2025 European Mixed Team Championships are taking place next week. Stay tuned for more updates on this event.
