As the time for the 2025 European Mixed Team Championships fast approaches, set to be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 12 to 16 February, the qualification stages are taking place this week.

Hosted across several locations, the qualification stage involves 26 teams competing for a spot at the main event next year. With Denmark qualifying as reigning champions and Azerbaijan as hosts, the remaining 26 teams divided into six groups have to fight to secure one of the six spots available.

Let’s see what’s happening in each of the five locations.

From Thursday 5 to Saturday 7 December, Wipperfürth, Germany, will see teams from two groups compete. Group 1 includes France, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Sweden, while Group 3 comprises Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Norway. You can watch the matches on Sportdeutschland.TV and find more information on the event’s website.

Right after the end of the 2024 European Junior Championships, Ibiza will host Group 2 — featuring Belgium, Estonia, Portugal, and Spain — from Thursday to Saturday. Matches will be livestreamed on BadmintonEurope.tv.

In Haarlem, matches for Group 4, which includes Iceland, the Netherlands, Türkiye, and Ukraine, are scheduled from today, Wednesday 4 to Friday 6 December. Streaming is available on Badmintonclub Duinwijck’s YouTube channel.

England will host Group 5, consisting of Austria, England, Israel, and Poland, from Friday 6 to Sunday 8 December. Updates and results can be checked here.

Sofia, Bulgaria, will host matches for Group 6 from Thursday 5 to Sunday 8. This group is split into two subgroups: Subgroup A with Bulgaria, Croatia, and Hungary, and Subgroup B featuring Czechia, Finland, and Switzerland. Fans can watch the matches via the Bulgarian Badminton Federation’s YouTube channel or Facebook page.
