The Super 300 tournament goes into the Round of 16 with three European players — Line Kjaersfeldt, Nhat Nguyen, and Julien Carraggi. There will even be a European clash, as Nguyen and Carraggi face each tomorrow.

After the second day of competition, only a handful of Europeans remain, but those who advanced have shown great efforts. Julien Carraggi, in particular, showed endurance in a hard-fought first-round match against Sri Lanka’s Viren Nettasinghe. The Belgian lost the first game narrowly by 19-21 an extremely close game. He bounced back in the second game with a 21-14 win. The deciding game ended in a 24-22 victory for Carraggi.

Carraggi's next match will be against Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen, who also advanced with a nice performance. Nguyen defeated Denmark’s Magnus Johannesen, who recently returned from some months off after an injury, in straight games, 21-19, 21-10.

Denmark's Line Kjaersfeldt defeated Peru’s Ines Lucia Castillo, 21-17, 21-5. She will face Thamonwan Nithiittikrai from Thailand in the next match.
