Coaching excellence in Holbæk

After the success of the previous BWF/BEC Coach Education Level 3 Course, Holbæk will once again host a new edition that is taking place from 7 to 12 November 2023 at the Holbæk Sportsby facilities, home to the RSL BEC Center of Excellence.

Thirteen participants representing nine European countries will come together for six days to take their coaching skills to the next level.

Mari Carmen Casermeiro, BEC Development and High-Performance Officer emphasizes, “It is crucial to provide this education in Europe in order to develop professional coaches at the highest level and ultimately, enabling them to shape top-level players.”

Unlike the rest of the Coaching Education Level 1 and 2, this Level 3 will go broader to consider badminton training within the context of a player pathway. This goes beyond the work of the coach with groups of players or individual players, and examines the process of talent development, from detection and identification through presentation at different level events. All of these processes involve other people and organisations and, in order to work effectively, coaches should have a good understanding of this overall context.

A team of experienced BWF tutors, including Martin Andrew, Kenneth Larsen, and Sharon Springer, is joined by newcomer Benhaz Pirzamanbein to lead this course.

“I am incredibly excited to join the BWF tutors team, a course that is undeniably at the forefront of badminton coaching excellence. The depth of expertise and the quality of content offered by the dedicated team are unparalleled. I look forward to both sharing my knowledge with a global community of coaches and learning from the vast experiences they bring. CL3 is not just a course; it's a confluence of the finest minds in badminton from all over the world, united in their dedication to elevate the game we love,” BWF Tutor and former BWF Coach Education Levl 3 participant Benhaz Pirzamanbein said.

Further information and updates about the course will be shared on our Social Media channels.
