Badminton Europe Confederation (BEC) would like to wish the Czech Badminton Federation, a happy 30th anniversary.

To celebrate the anniversary, President of Czech Badminton Petr Martinec proudly reflects on the history of the federation, going back to the establishment of the Czechoslovak Badminton Association 65 years ago.

"I am proud to be celebrating the 65th year of organized badminton in the Czech Republic. It all started in 1958, when the first organized tournament was held in Prague and nine years later in 1967, the Czechoslovak Badminton Association was one of the eleven founding members of the European Badminton Federation.

Over a period of 65 years, our association has celebrated many very valuable sport results, including the participation of our athletes in the Olympic Games. Czech Badminton also organized many important sport events such as the European Junior Championship, the European Club Championship, the qualifying group of the Thomas and Uber Cup, and other top BE and BWF events.

This year, we try not only to celebrate this important anniversary, but also we want to remember all the members of our community who are not with us anymore and who played important part in the development of Czech Badminton Association and Czechoslovak Badminton Association in the past. We owe them great thanks and a huge respect.

I wish that in the years to come, Czech badminton will find many more passionate players, coaches and officials and will continue to be among the important badminton federations on the European badminton map.”
