Callum Hemming clinched two titles at the ORLEN Polish International presented by VICTOR, while many other Europeans let their talent shine in the finals.
English pairs had a standout week in Lublin, Poland, clinching an impressive haul of medals, but it was Callum Hemming who really stole the spotlight. Hemming, alongside Ethan Van Leeuwen, secured the men's doubles title, marking a triumphant return to the podium in the European Circuit since their runner-up finish at the Dutch Open back in 2022.
The English duo delivered commanding performances throughout the week, culminating in a final showdown against the unseeded Milosz Bochat/ Pawel Smilowski, one of Poland’s strongest pairs. Hemming/ Van Leeuwen clinched the victory in straight games, 21-16 21-12.
Hemming continued his winning streak with Estelle Van Leeuwen in the mixed doubles event. Despite being a relatively recent pairing, the duo have already shown their strengths including their semifinal appearance at the Denmark Masters earlier this year. In the final, they faced off against Swedes Melker Z-Bexell/ Tilda Sjoo, delivering another dominant performance, 21-14 21-13, to win the title.
The finals also featured another English pair, Abbygael Harris/ Annie Lado. They settled for silver after a hard-fought final against Türkiye’s Bengisu Ercetin/ Nazlıcan Inci. The Turkish pair, who had claimed bronze at the Belgian International the previous week, have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the circuit, boasting titles in the Future Series Nouvelle-Acquitane, Bonn International, Portugal International, and multiple podium finishes just this year.
Israel’s 18-year-old Daniil Dubovenko, seeded sixth, displayed exceptional skill. In the final, he faced Indonesia’s Andi Fadel Muhammad from Indonesia. Although Dubovenko fell short, his performances on his journey to the final as well as in the fight for the title highlighted his potential.
