After nearly three days of the RSL BWF/BEC Tutors Level 1 course, nine participants managed to successfully acquire the skills and competences required in order to effectively deliver the course’s content, both on and off the court.
“I’m very pleased with the progression the participants have made over the weekend. They have demonstrated the ability to give high level feedback, with use of questioning to allow for reflective and insightful learning. They now have the skills to continue their tutoring journey and course delivery,” Craig McCourtney, course expert, shared.
Not only did the tutors’ performances make the course a great learning experience, but also the cohesion of the group added an extra value that kept the tutors energised and engaged along the course.
“It was some great few days working alongside different people coming from various backgrounds. It was tough at the beginning to go from the role of a coach to a tutor but, after some adjustments along with the help, guidance, and expertise of the course experts, we were all able to make the appropriate changes in order to make the transition effectively. Overall, it was a good learning experience and a very successful few days here in Haarlem,” Tony Crowley, participant of the course, stated.
As a follow up for the European tutors, BWF together with BEC will be organising a three-day Tutors refresher and upskilling workshop to keep developing and improving the tutor’s role. It will take place in Prague, from 5 until 8 June 2023.
