Przemek Szymanski recently joined the Badminton Europe. Get to know more about our new Graphic Designer.

This Summer, Badminton Europe has welcomed a new Graphic Designer. Przemek Szymanski hails from Gorzów Wielkopolski, a city in western Poland. However, he’s no stranger to Denmark — he moved here 13 years ago with his family, when he was just 16.

Already leaving his creative mark on the sport
It is in Aarhus, Denmark, where he ventured into the world of design. He undertook a course in Multimedia Design and Communication at the Aarhus Business Academy and later decided to broaden his knowledge in the field in the big city, Copenhagen, with a Bachelor’s in Web Development.

- I had been interested in design since I was young. My friends would play video games in their free time, but I wasn’t that good. One day, I decided to download Adobe Photoshop, and that’s how it all started. I found it so inspiring.

Now, Przemek will be applying his creative touch to the world of European badminton. The Polish designer has been working in the office for almost two months now and has used his skills to produce plenty of visual content for everyone to enjoy.

- I like working with Adobe programmes such as Photoshop, After Effects, and Illustrator. So far, I have enjoyed the responsibility I have, since I am the only graphic designer here. I love that my job tasks are so different — from promotional videos and graphics for events to new email signatures for the whole team and new graphics for the website.

A funny coincidence before the new, exciting adventure
Working on the visual identity of the confederation is surely an exciting task and our new graphic designer has already got to experience some exciting moments in the office.

- I have taken part in two live draws in the office studio, and it has been a great experience. I was so excited about the first draw, I thought that it was one of the coolest things that I had seen in a long time because I had never participated in anything like this before. Working with cameras and the green screen was really cool.

Przemek knew about the sport of badminton but had never taken up the sport as a hobby. He recalls a funny situation just moments before coming across the job advertisement for Graphic Designer at Badminton Europe.

- I was in a car with my mum and she told me I should find a new hobby because she thought I was spending too much time on my computer. Just at that moment, we drove past a badminton hall, and she suggested that I should give badminton a try. I later went back home and as I browsed through job advertisements, I saw the position in Badminton Europe. I thought, “Okay, I need to apply”.

Now that he is more familiar with badminton, our new graphic designer feels like getting more involved in the sport.

- I would love to try badminton, I hope I can join the office team in a badminton session soon. I’m still new in this badminton world, so I would like to learn more and see more as well, perhaps attending one of our tournaments to see it with my own eyes and experience it.

Welcome to the Badminton Europe team, Przemek!
