Pusarla V. Sindhu made the comeback of the day winning against Tai Tzu Ying.

Before today Indian Pusarla V. Sindhu and Tai Tzu Ying from Chinese Taipei had met 14 times. 10 times the Indian had lost, but not today at the World Championships in Basel. After the first game it looked like another Indian loss, but a great comeback secured Pusarla V. Sindhu a medal at the Worlds. The Indian won 12-21 23-21 21-19.

- It was a good comeback. After losing the first game I fought back and I was still confident even though she was leading, Sindhu said.

- I am really happy, but the World Championships are not yet over. There is still a semifinal for me, and I feel I need to prove myself and to play well tomorrow.

Need to bring the top level
Once again Tai Tzu Ying had to leave a major event without a gold medal despite being one of the major favourites.

- I did not do a bad job today. I tried my best, and I gave everything I had, Tai Tzu Ying said.

- For this kind of tournament everybody is preparing properly, and in the future, I will need to reduce the errors and to play my A-game, Tai Tzu Ying stated.

In the semifinals Sindhu will be facing Chen Yufei, China or Danish Mia Blichfeldt.
