The second edition of the European Games will be organized in Minsk, Belarus, from 24-30th June in 2019. And the qualification period will run from Monday 26th March until 24th March 2019.

BWF’s World Ranking List from March 28th 2019, will be used to allocate athletes quota places in men’s and women’s singles, men’s, women’s and mixed doubles.

The BWF Council has decided to allocate world ranking points to the Games which means that the winners of the 2019 European Games will therefore get 7.000 points. This in addition to the points which can be earned at the European Championships.

Important for the Centre of Excellence players
For many European players, the European Games is an important goal, and in 2019 it is not any different for Centre of Excellence player, Milan Ludík from Czech Republic. As the highest ranked player from his country, Ludik has a great possibility to qualify.

- It would be a big honor to represent my country at such a big event, Ludík says about qualifying for the European Games in 2019. It will be too early to tell, but the event in Minsk will definitely be a priority for the young Czech, who lives and trains daily at the Centre of Excellence in Holbæk.

From 6-9 September 2018, the Belarusian Badminton Federation is hosting a Circuit tournament for the first time – a Future Series tournament which will serve as test event for the European Games.
