What an amazing match this would be! Zheng Siwei and Huang Yaqiong (China) who only lost one match since they paired up in November. Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Higashino (Japan) who beat many of the crowds favourites pairs in this tournament with their energetic style of playing.

In the first game there seemed no doubt why Zheng and Huang almost lost no match during last few match. While they lost some more points during the second half of the first game, there was actually no doubt that they would actually lose that game.

Different was the second game, where the Japanese pair took a lot more initiative by taking more risks with their attacking play. By the time the Chinese pair finally had an answer and anticipated on this change, it was already too late: Watanabe and Higashino won the second game 21-19.

This gave them a great confidence boost, as they started to play even better than before and had an answer to everything the Chinese pair tried. The first Japanese mixed doubles winners of the All England were a fact!
