Chris and Gabrielle Adcock have not succeeded to reach the semi-finals in their home country. In three games they lost to Yuta Watanabe and Arisa Hirashino.

One week ago, Adcock & Adcock were not even sure if they would participate at the All England Open this year. Gabrielle twisted her ankle during the India Open and was not sure if she would recovere on time.

Luckily for the British audience, she did. Adcock & Adcock were definitely the favourite players of the supporters in Birmingham.Unfortunately they do not get to see the Adcock’s the Arena

- If you would have offered me a quarter final a week ago. I would have taken it with both hand, Gabrielle commented to Badminton Europe

Slow paste

- Now I feel bad that we lost. We don’t like losing. Gabrielle continued
- We’re competitors, Chris added.

- Especially because we were slowing down the paste in the second game. You cannot switch up the speed like that against a pair like that. Gabrielle then continued

- They are way too good at taking the points
