Following his four three-set victories accompanying to semifinals in Bitburger Badminton Open, Mark Caljouw is comfortably saving his spot in men’s singles top 40 in the World Ranking list.

The Dutch badminton player is occupying position no. 40 for the third consecutive week. It’s a big step forward for him, however he believes that he can be even better.

“I feel there is more to gain. I have had some good results so far, but I feel that climbing up the ranking ever more is a realistic possibility”, he tells Badminton Europe.

Caljouw’s biggest goal for the next year is the European Championships to be held in Huelva, Spain on April 24 – 29. But for now, he has another important focus: “Progression is a bigger goal for me now than looking towards a specific ranking”.
