England's Rajiv Ouseph is slowly and steadily moving up in the world ranking list. The current European champion was no. 20 in the world for the last two weeks. This week he climbed one spot up to occupy position no. 19.

Europe’s two other men’s singles players having a spot in top 20 are Viktor Axelsen (Denmark), occupying position no. 1 and Anders Antonsen (Denmark), who is world no. 16 this week.

Bitburger Badminton Open 2017 men’s doubles champions Kim Astrup/Anders Skaarup Rasmussen (Denmark) are back to position no. 11. Semifinalists Mathias Christiansen and David Daugaard (Denmark) moved three spots up and are now in top 20.

There are no position changes for Europe’s women’s singles players in the world top 20 this week. Spain’s Carolina Marin occupies the 5th spot, whereas Kirsty Gilmour (Scotland) is ranked no. 20.

Kamilla Rytter Juhl/ Christinna Pedersen (Denmark) and Stefani Stoeva/Gabriela Stoeva (Bulgaria) are ranked no. 4 and 10 respectively in women’s doubles ranking list.
COE player aiming for game development
Milan Ludik, one of the 16 players from Badminton Europe’s “Centre of Excellence”, is currently ranked no. 116 in the world but he believes that with the COE trainings he will gradually become better.

“I would like to reach top 100 before the end of the year. My focus is now more on trainings. I would like to develop my game and not just chasing points for the world ranking”, - Ludik tells Badminton Europe.
