British parings were subject of a twenty one combined place rise as the new world rankings were announced this Thursday.

A ten-rankjump for Alex Dunn and Adam Hall of Scotland, and an eight-rank jump for the English pair Ben Lane and Sean Vendy make them one of the highest movers in the top hundred places.

Scotland international Hall spoke about his and his partner’s route to the Common Wealth Games, which will be held in Gold Coast next year, and believes that their rise has showed how much they are going towards their goal.

“Alex(Dunn) and I are in the process of trying to qualify for the Common Wealth Games in Gold Coast in 2018” said Hall, “so this jump in the rankings is really getting us closer to reaching the standard we need!”

Hall spoke about him and Dunn only being a partnership for a short while and hopes that it is the recipe for them to have a long and successful career as they prepare for the games to come.

Hall continued “With this still being a fairly new partnership we're just looking to continue stringing some good results together and get as much experience as we can going into (hopefully) a long partnership together!”

Dunn, theother half of the pairing believes that it was important that they got throughto the latter stages of the Czech Open.

“We are currently trying to qualify for the 2018 Commonwealth games. And with a semi-final finish at the Czech Open, our jump up the rankings to 71 - which is my highest ranking - (it) has helped our chances of reaching that goal” Dunn said.

Otherjumps included promising doubles partners Peter Briggs and Tom Wolfenden, who move up three places into 37th after their strong performance at the French Open.

Ben Lane and Sean Vendy of England also, took a big jump in the rankings, Vendy spoke about him and Lane’s perseverance has lead to them finally moving up the world rankings.

“Obviously we are delighted to be moving up the ranking after a few tough years in theSenior Circuit. Draws haven't been on our side much and I think we had been expecting to climb the rankings quicker than we have.”

Vendy spoke about the partnership’s ability to beat doubles much higher than them in the rankings and he thinks that they have potential to continue climbing higher.

“We have proved we can challenge the best in the world and pairs a lot higher than us in the ranking. Vendy said.

He continued, “For now we will focus on putting in good performances in tournamentand training hard week in week out and we're confident that we will continue to climb.”
