The very first BWF Lead Programme Training was held in Kuala Lumpur from 1-3 June 2016 where all the five Continental Confederations were present together with some BWF staff. This 3 days course is an initiative of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and its partner, the World Academy of Sport (WAoS).
A total of 17 participants were present and guided by 4 trainers from the WAoS. This three-day training course has been designed to train and certify participants as Programme Leads to deliver the Events Management or National Administrators’ Courses within our Continental Confederations.
As a result of this training, participants will better understand content related to key knowledge areas, as well as the process of developing and facilitating education programmes. Multiple presenting skills were taught and participants were assigned to present different subjects during the course related to their respective areas; Events Management or Administration.

At the end of the course, participants were evaluated by the qualified trainers based on their deliveries. Badminton Europe (BEC) was represented by four employees.

Being a pilot programme, there is still a lot to be done and we look forward to know how the continuation of this will look like in the future and how this possibly can be utilized in Europe.´
Mock feedback session by the trainers
Prior to attending the face-to-face lead programme training in Kuala Lumpur, all participants went through an online programme as part of the course preparation. At the end of the course, participants were given one-to-one feedbacks on the areas that they did well and also on the areas that they need to improve in regards to their presentation skills and how they can benefit from the course back home.
